Part 1. Meet the Note Family & Friends

Recommended for k-2nd grade

Look at music theory in a whole new way! The Meet the Note Family and Friends\' level teaches the notes, rests, musical dot, basic time signatures and the musical alphabet.  Because it focuses on learning through association it is quick, retainable and so much fun yet unbelievably educational for the students and teachers alike. Students not only learn basic music theory and performance, but their mathematical and language arts skills also go up substantially due to this innovative and inviting unique concept.

1.  Meet the Note Family and Friends Teachers Manual

The 139 pages Meet the Note Family and Friends Teachers Manual includes 36 lessons formatted for ideal lesson plans which can be copied. The format consists of the Items needed for the weekly lesson, the Goals for the Week, and all activities, games, movements, fact finding information and songs for each weekly lesson.

Met the Note Family and Friends includes step by step lesson plans with great activities, games, vocal and rhythm exercises, basic math and language arts techniques, dance and drama movements included.

2.  Meet the Note Family and Friends Flash Cards

The 47 full-color Note Family and Friends Flash Cards includes all of the notes and rests with the personified characters on one side and the actual notes and rests on the other side.  Also included are  Little Dot,  Sir Mortimer Mouse the Treble Clef Sign, Monroe the Moon with Twink and Wink the Bass clef sign, various time signatures 4/4, 3/4, 2/4 with Quincy Quarter Note as the Beat Setter, and introduces 6/8 and Ellie Eight as Beat Setter and 2/2 with Helen Half Note As Beat Setter.  The set also includes the bar line, measure, and staff.

3.  Meet the Note Family and Friends Teachers Musical Accompaniment Songbook

15. The Meet the Note Family and Friends Musical Video.

Meet the Note Family and Friends musical DVD is a 60 minute video which introduces all of rhythmic symbols from the whole note and rest through the 64th note and rest and Little Dot. The Land of Music® Players introduce each Land of Music character by acting out and dancing to their songs then the characters themselves come to life and tell you all about who they are and what they do in the Land of Music® to make music possible for those of us here in the Land of People TM to enjoy. The Land of Music Players also move to the 2/4 March, The Note Family\'s Gonna Go To Mars One Day, The Note Family Plays Piano, and The Note Family Alphabet Song. All in all there are 16 Character stories featured in the animatix portion of the video.

16. Build-A-Note Puzzle

The unique and amazing Build-A-Note Puzzle  builds a note from the 64th note up through the whole note. A great device for teaching primary students.

 

Part 2. Build a Songhouse

Recommended for Grades 3 and 4 and younger.

Build a Songhouse presents the musical alphabet including the names of the lines and spaces in the treble and bass clef, more musical symbols, time signatures, tempos, dynamics, accidentals, dissonance, names of the sharps and flats, key signatures, musical directions and basic keyboarding.

11. The AIM Game.  Adventures in Music

The Aim Game board 21\"X 33\" full-color enchanting sturdy laminated playing board which folds in the middle for easy storage is actually three games in one.

100 full-color laminated Aim Game playing cards have two sides of musical symbols.  Side 1 is used for learning Note and Rest Symbol and musical directions Recognition. Side 1 is also used to learn time signatures and how many beats a note or rests gets depending on the time signature.  Side 2 teaches the names of the lines and spaces in the treble and bass clef.  This game is enjoyed by elementary and highs school students alike.  It is fun, educational and produces not only a good foundational understanding of music theory but also increases the skills in understanding mathematics.

Part 3. Musical Mind

Recommended for grades 5, 6 and up.

Musical Mind takes music theory to a dramatic climax. It introduces intervals, chords, scales, meters, musical terms and instruments.  Sight Reading, song writing, part singing, playing instruments all make this a fun and exciting section of The Land of Music® curriculum.
